Cars quickly screeched to a halt; drivers who were there
scooped up armloads full of cash on the thoroughfare.
Of those who stopped, some thought it would be funny
to pocket the bills amidst cries of, “Free money!”
The strength of that theory was rapidly tested
when cops showed up: several cash-grabbers arrested.
It’s hard to imagine what else could surpass our
fantasia of riches plucked from a cash shower.
For most, the best reverie we can arrange
