A Clear, Unpleasant Danger

It’s one thing to bridge a gap, but another to have a gap in a bridge.

Would you want to walk over a glass-bottom bridge?
Would it bother you much if it swayed just a smidge?
Would you overcome fear, using mind over matter?
I bet you’d freak out if a glass panel shattered.

That happened to one fellow, over in China.
He sure wished the builder had thought to design a
dependable structure that wouldn’t collapse –
or at least had a parachute handy, perhaps.

Though not badly hurt, this man surely was frightened
by hanging on for dear life from a great height. And
no one would be shocked if they hear him complain
that he’s suffering from lingering window pain.
