Patch a Tiger

A 10-year-old tiger undergoes a rare surgery.

A tiger with arthritis
had to have her hip replaced.
So a vet said, “You’re correct – it’s
quite a challenge to be faced.”

Since the tiger is a big cat –
quite unlike a little kitty –
their fierce claws can take a dig that
leaves a scar which isn’t pretty.

The procedure was successful
and restored full range of motion.
Just one task some might find stressful:
Here – you give her ibuprofen.

This endeavor wasn’t cheap – her
orthopedist had to fly in.
Next up for these brave zookeepers:
hair transplants for balding lions.
